Valentine’s Day is just around the corner so let me keep going with the romance theme on this blog. Congrats to Andrea and Jody on their engagement and upcoming July wedding. Although they are not originally from this area, Jody and Andrea wanted to capture their time together living and dating in DC. Who wouldn’t? It may not have that certain je ne sais quoi as the official city of love, but the granite and marble of the nation’s capital combine with young ambition to make a heady mix of romance. I might be slightly biased here; it’s where I met my husband. Either way, the monuments served as beautiful spot for engagement pictures. I met Andrea and Jody on an unusually warm weekend at the end of November. I was a gorgeous day, an unexpected and welcomed change from the dreary rain we had the weeks before. Amid the hordes of tourists, we found some quiet spots around the Lincoln Memorial where the couple could feel a bit more comfortable taking pictures. I gave them a quick break by the Potomac to relax and enjoy the lovely day (psst…Jody…wake up) and then ventured on to the Jefferson Memorial. Andrea told me later that Jody passed right out once they were home. Good to know I can have the same effect on adults as I do with kids! Thanks to Andrea and Jody for keeping their energy up and sticking it out with me. Hope your Orlando wedding is a fabulous celebration.
A special thanks to my assistant Maddie for her help on this session.
